Visual Culture has always been something that was a significant part of my life, even as a child I was always creating “little works of art” that my mom would hang on the fridge. I didn’t realize how important it was until I started doing school assignments. Every time my grandmother would help me with my projects she would yell at me because I always cared more about how the projects looked rather then what were in them. I was always concerned about what font I used and if it looked nice as a whole. When I started high school at Etobicoke School of the Arts I wanted to have a career in drama, but when I joined the yearbook class last year I became fascinated with graphic design and photography. I love manipulating shapes and images and changing them with colors to make them more visually interesting. I enjoy making sure that all the fine details of a print or art piece is complete as it can be. Graphic Design and photography are ways to express myself and make the art more my style. I loved the idea of creating something for people to enjoy looking at. I am the editor of my school yearbook this year and although it’s a lot of responsibility, it’s fun to be part of a team that is creating something for our whole school to appreciate. In the future one of my goals is be someone who is involved with the development of a magazine layout and design or someone who constructs ads for products.

  This picture was taken when i was on vacation in Florida. It originally was in color but i tried it out in black in white in photoshop just to see what it will look like and i enjoyed the outcome more in black and white.
