Highly influenced by the neoclassical paintings of Jacques-Louis David; the hyper realistic sculptures of Ron Mueck; the majestic super flat prints of Takashi Murakami and the pop art of Andy Warhol; Thomas Walker, Jr. is carving his own lane. Like his mentors, Walker plans to turn the art world upside-down. His work has been described as inventive, passionate and unparalleled. He is a zealous young man, equipped with ambition, a surreal work ethic, technical knowledge, unrelenting creative ideas and a true passion for his craft.

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Thomas Walker, Jr. was destined to be a graphic artist. This career allows him to combine his deep love for both art and technology. Walker’s obsession with art began at the age of four. It was simply the doodles and sketches created by his mother, Diane, in conjunction with construction paper and paper maché projects his older sister, Traci, created throughout his childhood that caused Walker’s creative mind to begin to form. At the age of fourteen Walker was introduced to Adobe Photoshop and given the opportunity to work with and learn from, a well-respected art director in the Metropolitan Detroit area. After studying for 2 years, while a sophomore at Cass Technical High School in 2002, Walker decided to live his dream through entrepreneurship. With guidance from his father, Thomas Sr., Virtual Visual Design Studio, LLC. (V2D) was born.

Since then, Walker has worked closely with art directors and designers from major advertising agencies in the Midwest. He has completed several projects with the City of Detroit, including designing the promotional advertisement for “XL” the official energy drink of Super Bowl XL, which was held in Detroit, Michigan in February 2006. He has also partnered with Michigan State University and Wayne State University, which is Michigan’s only urban public research university.

Walker has also received national recognition by being outsourced by numerous design and print companies for graphic and web designs throughout North America, having layouts displayed in local and international magazines and being commissioned to create pieces by many art connoisseurs. He has also worked closely with the United Negro College Fund and his fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Most recently, his design work has been recognized by the music industry. Walker has worked closely with Kanye Wests G.O.O.D. Music recording artist Big Sean, and G.O.O.D. Music production duo WrighTrax.
