TroNic™ TroNic Born Khiry Cummings, Tronic fell in love with the art of Hip-Hop from a young age. From this moment on Tronic knew that he wanted to do something related to Hip Hop in his future, production became his calling. Tronic’s production range diversifies from the more soft sounds of R&B and soul to the hard pumping bass lines of Hip-Hop and Reggae music. Currently Tronic has done productions for many upcoming Jamaican reggae/rap artists including S.I.N., T.S.D. & Nomad. He has also done production for dancehall artists Vybz Kartel and Mavado. Tronic first introduction to music came at the tender age of fourteen when he was given his first Casio keyboard. Tronic had strong aspirations of learning classical music and using those skills and applying them to his own music. Numerous music teachers told him that he was excellent in playing by ear and would be flawless if he put more practice into reading music. Tronic would be up at nights playing around with the pre set drum loops on his keyboard and playing over top of them creating a new rhythm everyday even though he was unable to save his works. Although he enjoyed making these beats he was more fascinated in rapping, always-writing lyrics during school, at home, or even when he was on the road. It wasn’t until Tronic was seventeen that he realised production was where his heart and true talent lay. Thanks to one of his close friends Tronic was introduced to Fruity Loops or FL Studio, which would allow him to make his beats he envisioned in his mind into reality. His friend also showed him the art of being able to sample music. After learning such a helpful skill it allowed Spitfya to take his beat making and production to the next level, being able to sample and create beats off the top of his head. As a producer Tronic’s influences range from The Neptunes, Dj Premier, J. Dilla, Kanye West to 9th Wonder, RZA and Just Blaze. The most important thing that is on the mind of Tronic when making a beat is “how can I make this sound like something that you never have heard before.” He strives on being different and being able to bring his own style to the table, sampling not just usual soul records but classical, reggae and even rock, and showing that almost anything and everything can be Hip-Hip.
