Timeless art would be something that with stands the test of time! example Tu pac, Da Vinci, Hitchcock, etc...

Stylized art would be something more like LiL Wayne, Picasso, James Jean etc...

What would you say wins Timeless Art or Stylized Art?

lol tu pac...

da vinci and picasso are very debatable, i think they're both timeless, i appreciate and love both their work. It's subjective.

Well Picasso is original in what HE did but non the less he is not consider timeless like DA Vinci! I agree this is a subjective topic but only if we stand in the middle!

Also Picasso studied Da vinci there for!! DA VINCI WINS LOL!!

I personally dont like Picasso but I respect what he did for himself! But I dont like the crappy artist who try to mimic his work and dont put in effort! What I mean is a lot of artist now a days just rely on there style too much and dont practice or try to master the fundamentals! ex life drawing, still life, pretty much painting and drawing from life.

But this is all my opinion and I agree with what your saying but art is only subjective because people choose not to choose a side! when really there are only a few that I would call subjective.

subjective means they are choosing a side. my subjective view is i like various artists for different reasons. it's not a side, middle, left or right thing. there are so many different views people could take with it. i can't see there being a team picasso and team da vinci like with twilight, god help us all. but you get my drift.

YES I understand your point! your TEAM EDWARD LOL!!!!! Your picking a TIE! Thats what your saying! which I totally respect! But NON the LESS DA VINCI influenced PICASSO so there for DA VINCI wins LOL!! Im just playing!

Im just fed up with bad art/artist! To me too many people think they can pull Picasso! Also tired of seeing too many swagger jackers (people who blur the line of influence to straight up copying)

ALL I HAVE TO SAY TO THAT IS MASTER THE FUNDAMENTAL OF YOUR ART BEFORE CALLING YOURSELF A ARTIST!

pretty much what they're teaching us at university at the moment. learn the art of realism, drawing things as you see it, then once you learn the rules, you can do whatever you want, how you want, and it will look amazing.

wtf is team edward...?

Im playing!! ok team JACOB LOL!!! I know I know your like I hate you LOL!!!

Well Im glad your university is teaching that! The school I went didnt even teach that! (had to learn that 1st hand by teaching myself that) Matter of fact I can honestly say all the school here dont teach that or if they do the students do not practice that method! Most of the students want that "style" or think they are the next Picasso! They also call there flaws a style! (sad so SAD)
But so far Ive notice alot of that happening around the world! I just cant say its just here! I believe if everyone truly did that there would be more amazing artist then bad ones! I find this in all art forms!

But non the less it is the right method you are being taught! Master the rules before you are able to break them!

You're always so excited!

wtf @ team jacob?

and finally...

I think it depends which university you go to here. My college is available in every continent except the US. They're very serious about what they teach, and know that drawing skills are a must for any games designer/animator, so they teach us to practice and teach us to have the ability to teach ourselves new things and experiment, which is one thing i really love.

But yeah, going well so far, my eyes are red from all the drawing LOL

But Yah I graduated from Sheridan College which is one of the big school for animation and some arts! But non the less the school to me was just a paid studio with some decent profs!

But yah I love love love life drawing I did it 5-6 days out the week! when I was still in school but when I was your age I was life drawing like 6-8 hours a day 7 days a weeks! NO BULLSHIT!

It was the only part of art that is soo calming too me! time goes by so fast and you actually see your work getting better!!

it is at our university, we're encouraged to treat it like a 9-5 job so we can get work done, but it never turns out like that so easily

definitely does. we're designing our own characters at the moment, and to be honest if i hadn't sketched realistic anatomy first to get an understanding, there's no chance i'd be able to create a character that looks somewhat believable
