Angel in the Dark

You are an angel
Not an angel in biblical sense
But a burning light in a world of darkness
This is why you are an angel
When I am surrounded by total darkness
There you stand
A guiding beacon
To where you ask?
To a different world
A world filled with light
Love
Hope
Peace
Here I sit wrapped in total darkness
Reluctant to follow you, my angel
You stand in front of me
Pointing the way
But for some unknown reason I choose to stay seated
I choose this pain
I choose the darkness
All I have to do is stand
Be a man
Follow you
To the world of light
But I don’t
I choose to wait
For what you ask?
For you to whisper something in my ear
To tell me this world of light is the bonding of our two souls
To tell me all will be settled
To tell me the darkness will recede never to return
But most of all to tell me you love me as I love you
